Our founder, Maya, had just brought home her first six pullets — Barred Rocks and a single, stubborn Silkie — and when one stopped eating on day three, she realized something quietly devastating: she had no one to ask. Not a neighbor, not a vet who took chickens seriously, not a community that understood why a single hen’s appetite could feel like an emergency. Roost grew from that loneliness — a place where no question is too small, no breed too obscure, and no first-time keeper is left without an answer.
